AirText is an Android Application that allows the user to communicate in low light situations (discos, city or nature at night) by using the mobile's screen. It provides 3 diferent modes for presenting messages:

Just by shaking the mobile device from side to side. It implements the "Persistence of Vision" (P.O.V) phenomenon on our Android mobile devices, detects the movement and presents the message with a cool effect, it is recommended for small texts (no more than 8 characters).

Insert the text you want to show, configure the color, shape and speed and push play. The characters will appear along your screen (in landscape mode only) emulating a LED ticker screen.

Although Morse code is something from the past century, no one knows when it can be usefull.Using this mode you can transmit morse-coded messages with your screen, configure the text, color and speed and push play.You can also configure it to vibrate while blinking.

AirText is basically an entertainment Software, it can be fun to draw some funny texts while being dancing on a disco but also can be used to get a taxi at night by keeping the driver's eye with a colorfull TAXI text string.

Organic LED screens are coming really soon to many Android powered devices like Samsung's I7500 , this kind of screens have more contrast and color sharpness with less power consuption than common LCD ones, the interesting feature that this screens provide is that they don't need backlight, this means that black areas on the screen are totally black , the leds that present on that area are not lit up.

This is really interesting for an application like this, it is intented to show bright messages on low light situations, with this kind of screens, the effect is really nice.

OLED Screens are a very important feature to obtain a trully P.O.V effect.
