Soon your android will read your email

I’m working currently on a new big update of Voice Alerts, the goal is to make it read your Gmail incoming emails and possibly other accounts. Retrieving the data from Gmail was no big deal thanks to the opensource JavaMail Api port for Android but filtering all the Html content and metadata from the email body is a tough task, i will be improving the filtering algorithms during the week and hopefully by sunday you will get your weekly Voice-Alerts update.

Which features would you like to see being implemented concerning the Email Alerts? Please, leave a comment with your ideas, feedback is very important.

Stay tuned.

While I can’t use your app right now (waiting for 2.1 update to the Cliq), I plan to buy it as soon as it’ll run on my phone.

Reading email is nice, but all I REALLY want is to have it read the sender name and subject line as the emails arrive. It’s nice to just listen and see if it’s even worth taking the phone out of my pocket, or if it’s obviously just spam and I can ignore it. Doing it this way should completely eliminate your problems with stripping out teh HTML and other formatting, right?

And please, Please, PLEASE make the output Bluetooth ONLY if that’s possible! Nothing worse than having your pocket start talking about DISCOUNT V1AGRA in the middle of a meeting! Trust me on this…
