Future Roadmap

Here you will find the future functionalities that Voice Alerts will feature in upcoming versions, some of them are just ideas that would be great to implement. As soon as it is on my hand i will try to implement them.

  1. Inform when an open (no encrypted) wifi network is found  [DONE]
  2. Inform about the bluetooth devices detected near you. [NEXT UPDATE]
  3. Twidroid integration : Voice Alerts will read your tweets if you use Twidroid as mobile twitter client [DONE]
  4. Locale plugin: So Voice Alerts activates/deactivates automatically depending on your location
  5. Read emails from GMail [DONE]
  6. Inform when a calendar event is goin to happen, so you won’t forget that important meeting [NEXT UPDATE]
  7. Voice commands, to control you phone when some events occur.
  8. Support for more languages: Currently the text-to-speech library supports only English, Spanish, German, French and Italian. If an uptade of it is released in the future i will be glad to support the new languages.
  9. Allow the user to record custom voice messages using android’s built in voice recorder.
  10. implement version for 1.5 android powered devices, there are a lot of people still using 1.5 willing to use voice alerts… Would require the use of the external tts library though.
  11. Stop running alert with a shake movement. [DONE]
  12. Read weather information [NEXT UPDATE]
  13. Activate/deactivate voicealerts when a bluetooth A2DC headset is connected, that would be great for activating Voice Alerts when stepping in and out of the car… [DONE]
